Communication
The process of conveying information from one person to another. The sender is the one who sends the message. The receiver is the person who gets the message. If a message is communicated well, the sender and the receiver will understand it. People have to understand a common language in which messages are exchanged between each sender and receiver. There are many ways to communicate: listening, speaking, writing, touching, looking at one another, using paralanguage, using body language, and assigning sign language.
Communication is defined as a process by which we assign and convey meaning in an attempt to create shared understanding. A person needs a wide array of skills to communicate well. Those skills include speaking, analyzing, questioning, observing, and evaluating.
