Hypothesis (Psychology)
A possible explanation for an observed behavior or event, which may or may not be correct. It is generally posed as a specific statement about the relationship between two or more variables, expressed as a prediction of cause and effect that can be tested scientifically. Hypotheses are based on data from previous research studies or the personal experiences and observations of the researcher. The variables in the hypothesis must be specified in a way that indicates how they will be measured.
