Guilty (Psychology)
The state of feeling guilt or the state of being found justly chargeable with or responsible for crime or breach of social conduct. People often feel guilty when they believe they are responsible for an act deemed morally or legally wrong. When an individual feels responsible for a situation but cannot improve on it, guilty feelings can also occur. People may also feel guilty when their actions do not coincide with their values.
