Gross National Product (GNP)
A quantitative measure of a country's production of goods and services by its citizens. In addition to economic activity created by companies located in the specified nation, the GNP also includes income earned by residents from overseas investments and excludes income earned within the domestic economy by foreign investors. The GNP is a significant measure of economic health and is measured annually or quarterly.
