Abstract

The ethics of strong sustainability rests on the idea that natural capital encompasses human societies and their economies and, as such, is the source of all other forms of capital, be it social, economic, intellectual, or cultural capital. It promotes a paradigm shift compelling business organizations and consumers to engage in the preservation of natural capital at all costs and to abandon unsustainable practices.
