Abstract
This entry is geared toward helping students understand and apply the theory of self-efficacy in real-world scenarios. The “Theory” section includes the definition and sources of self-efficacy as well as the background of the theory, its limitations, and its new and emerging directions. There is a glossary of key terms, a quiz to check understanding, and an animation video to aid comprehension. The “Theory in Practice” section explains when and how to apply self-efficacy theory, provides stories of practitioners putting the theory in action, and facilitates application via interactive scenarios.
