Abstract
In this unit, Chi-Square analysis is explored and explained. Thanks to the discovery of Karl Pearson, we can now learn about relationships with categorical variables for which we can do little more than compute frequencies. This non-parametric (distribution-free) has no assumptions that must be met and can be performed with relatively small samples. Whether comparing the frequencies for a single variable against what is expected or analyzing the cross-sums of two categorical variables, Chi-Square analysis is an effective and valuable part of one’s statistical toolbox.
