Quantitative research relies on data that consist of numbers, statistics, and mathematical models. Quantitative research is based on principles of the scientific approach, which includes the collection, analysis, and interpretation of empirical data. Quantitative studies are concerned with external validity, which refers to the ability to generalize findings from a sample to the larger population of reference.
