Population: 829 (2018E—Vatican). Citizenship is by appointment, not birthright. Once an appointment is over, Italian citizenship is usually bestowed. The Vatican is predominately male; approximately 30 percent of the population are women.
Official Language: Latin. (Italian is the working language.)
