Note: In early parliamentary balloting on October 14, 2012, the Coalition for European Montenegro—an electoral alliance led by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS)—won 39 of 81 parliamentary seats. Milo Djukanović was subsequently nominated on November 9 as prime minister and succeeded in building a coalition government with the Social Democratic Party and two ethnic parties. The new government was approved by parliament on December 4, 2012. Igor Lukšić, the previous prime minister, accepted a position as minister of foreign affairs. Domestic media commentary widely suggests that one of the two figures is likely to be the DPS candidate for the presidential elections in April 2013.[Page 967]
