Note: According to preliminary results for the November 7, 2010, balloting for the National Assembly, the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) was credited with winning 71 of 125 seats. Most of the 41 successful independent candidates were also considered YAP supporters, while the pro-YAP Motherland Party won 2 seats. The Civil Solidarity Party was credited with 3 seats, while eight other opposition parties each secured 1 seat. Most international observers agreed that the poll had been marred by ballot-stuffing and other irregularities.
