Note: Defense Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Barak and four other members of the Knesset resigned from the Israel Labor Party on January 17, 2011, and formed a new government-supportive parliamentary faction called Independence, which accepted cabinet positions in a collateral reshuffle. Meanwhile, the eight remaining Labor legislators, reflecting growing party dissatisfaction with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of peace negotiations with the Palestinians, moved into opposition, and Labor relinquished its cabinet posts.
