Note: Viktor YANUKOVYCH (Party of Regions) was sworn-in as president on February 25, 2010, following his election in runoff polling on February 7.On March 3, the government of prime minister Yulia TYMOSHENKO (Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc) fell following a no-confidence vote. On March 11 Mykola AZAROV (Party of Regions) was elected by the parliament as prime minister of a coalition government that included the Party of Regions, Communist Party of Ukraine, and the Lytvyn Bloc.

Note: Former prime minister Viktor Yanukovych of the Party of Regions finished first in the first round of presidential balloting on January 17, 2010, with 35 percent of the vote.
