Note: On September 3, 2008, ministers and legislators from President Viktor Yushchenko's Our-Ukraine–People's Self-Defense (NU-NS) bloc announced that they were withdrawing their support for the coalition government led by Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. When Tymoshenko and her Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc (BYT) were subsequently unable to entice the NU-NS back into the coalition, the speaker of the Supreme Council on September 15 declared that the government had formally collapsed. Negotiations toward a new coalition government subsequently failed, and on October 8 President Yushchenko ordered the dissolution of the Supreme Council and announced that new legislative balloting would be held on December 7. However, under pressure from Tymoshenko, the Supreme Council challenged the dissolution decree and refused to approve funds for the elections, which Yushchenko subsequently postponed. ...
