Note: In elections for the Seimas on October 12 and 26, 2008, the In the Name of Lithuania coalition of the Homeland Union (TS) and the Lithuanian Christian Democrats (LKD) secured 45 seats; the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party, 25; the People's Resurrection Party (TPP), 16; the For Order and Justice coalition, 15; the Lithuanian Republic Liberal Movement (LRLS), 11; and five other parties, 10 or fewer seats each. Andrius Kubilius, the chair of the TS, was approved as prime minister by the Seimas on November 27 and appointed by the president the following day. Kubilius's coalition government (comprising the TS, LKD, TPP, LRLS, and the Liberal and Center Union) was sworn in on December 9.
