Note: On February 19, 2008, Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan of the Republican Party of Armenia won the presidency with 52.8 percent of the vote, defeating former president Levon Ter-Petrossiam (Armenian Pan-National Movement), who received 21.5 percent. The remaining results were as follows: Artur Baghdasarian, 17.7 percent; Vahan Hovhannisian, 6.2 percent; Vazgen Manukian, 1.3 percent; Tigran Karapetian, 0.6 percent; Artashes Geghamian, 0.46 percent; Arman Melikian, 0.27 percent; and Aram Harutiunian, 0.17 percent. Sargysan was inaugurated on April 9, 2008.
