Note: In assembly elections held for the first time in nine years on April 10, 2008, the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist)—CPN (Maoist) took 220 of the 601 available seats, followed by the Nepali Congress with 110 seats and the Unified Marxist-Leninist Communist Party—CPN (UML) with 103 seats.
