Results for the Senate were as follows: government parties, 174 seats (House of Freedoms, 147; Northern League, 25; Movement for Autonomy of the South, 2); opposition parties, 132 seats (Democratic Party, 118 seats; Italy of Values, 14); and independents, 9 (Union of Christian Democrats, 3; South Tyrolean People’s Party, 2: South Tyrolean People’s Party-Together for Autonomies, 2; Autonomy Liberty Democracy, 1; Association for Italians Abroad, 1).
