Retaining the Right People
Turnover is among the key performance measures that are monitored, analyzed, and regularly reported on, at both the agency and statewide levels, as part of Washington State's Human Resources Management Performance and Accountability System. Turnover data are produced monthly and by type (voluntary, involuntary, retirement, and layoff/RIF). Although an employee satisfaction survey instrument has been available for agencies to use for several years, in 2006 Washington implemented a mandatory, statewide employee survey that allows agency, as well as enterprise-wide analysis of employee satisfaction.
