On the final day of the Supreme Court's 2012-2013 term, the Court released two widely anticipated decisions that had a profound impact on the status of gay marriage in the United States. The most far reaching of the two decisions, United States v. Windsor, involved a challenge to the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).
