The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC) is a government-owned corporation. Created by an act of Congress in 1954 to oversee the construction of U.S. facilities for the Saint Lawrence Seaway project, it joined the Department of Transportation (DOT) under the Department of Transportation Act of 1966.

The corporation is headed by an administrator who is appointed by the president. The agency’s offices are divided between Washington, D.C., and Massena, New York. Funding for the corporation is appropriated by Congress.
