The city of Coeur d'Alene rests on the north shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene, a picturesque mountain lake that has become the center of northern Idaho's tourism industry. In 2010, the U.S. Census Bureau recorded a population of 44,137 for the city of Coeur d'Alene. Coeur d'Alene serves as the county seat for Kootenai County, which also includes the towns of Athol, Bayview, Cataldo, Dalton Gardens, Harrison, Hayden and Hayden Lake, Post Falls, Rose Lake, Rathdrum, Spirit Lake, and Worley.
