Toleration
Toleration is the attitude and corresponding conduct that allow for the peaceful coexistence of conflicting views and ways of life within the same society. According to the standard definition in the current philosophical debate, toleration means noninterference with practices, actions, and views of some people that the potential tolerator objects to and has the power to obstruct. Circumstances for toleration are thus differences of opinions, lifestyles, and practices:
