The Ripple Effect of the Russia-Ukraine War Creates Shortages in Africa

Abstract

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine since February 2022 has led to instability and suffering in Europe, and the ripple effects have created a severe shortage of food, fuel, and finances in several parts of the world. This case examines how developing nations in Africa have been impacted more than other parts of the world due to the war and asks students to consider what steps the United Nations and the world leaders of G7 countries should undertake to support the African continent.
