Abstract
The Briargate Resort is a five-star, five-diamond resort with three championship golf courses. During the spring, the area received record amounts of rain that washed away most of one of these courses. Dave Hill is the Head Golf Professional at The Briargate Resort and is faced with the unenviable task of dealing with this crisis. One of his first concerns is what to do with the 45 interns he hired since he only needs enough to work at two golf courses. He must also assure that the resort’s high service standards are upheld, while simultaneously balancing his budget for the season.
