Abstract

This case addresses Quadratics Pharmaceuticals, a privately owned company operating in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals. This company is considered one of the biggest privately owned pharmaceutical companies in Egypt. The case follows the evolution of the company, starting with its founding, through its growth, to its current situation. This case also outlines the changes and problems that the company has experienced as it grew to its current position, from both the family and the business perspective. Quadratics Pharmaceuticals is currently facing two major problems. The first relates to governance and the partners’ involvement, whereas the second relates to the effects of family dynamics on the company, ownership, and the succession plan.
