No Child’s Play: What Can the United States Do to Address the Baby Formula Shortage?

Abstract

The United States is currently facing an acute shortage of baby formula, a matter of severe concern to parents of infants as they struggle to feed their children. With product recalls and supply chain issues, this case analyzes the flaws in the manufacturing processes of baby formula producers. Students should analyze the overall impact of the shortage on both consumers and formula producers and propose recommendations that the U.S. government can enforce to circumvent a future shortage.
