Multiplying Impact: The Idobro Way

Abstract

Idobro, a Mumbai-based social enterprise, worked to multiply opportunities for women in green initiatives. Founded by Karon Shaiva, a female social entrepreneur, Idobro had grown significantly but faced critical issues related to its legal status for future growth. The case uses ‘the strategic triangle’ model, a framework to analyse social enterprises and Idobro, as its founder Karon Shaiva is faced with the difficult decision to either shut down Idobro or recast it into a nongovernment organization. Either way, her decision would impact a carefully nurtured ecosystem of producers, consumers, employees and partners.
