Abstract

This case study is based upon real life experiences that embody a number of common family obstacles: poverty, addiction, teen pregnancy, neglect, adolescent risk-taking, and others. It is provided in four sequential segments spanning the seasons of a calendar year. This case provides students with a context to bridge theory and practice – considering the theoretical underpinnings of assumptions and assessments made for a real family, while determining, locating, and learning about actual service providers.
