Abstract

This two part case series discusses the historic acquisition of the French football club FC Sochaux-Montbéliard by LEDUS Club Limited, a subsidiary of Tech Pro, the first time that a Chinese company wholly owned a European football club. The first case in the series discusses China’s ambitions to become a dominant player on the international football stage and Ledus Club’s strategy and investment in FC Sochaux-Montbéliard to promote the team to the top league in French football.
