Cybersecurity: The Three-Headed Janus

Abstract

This fictional case asks students to role play different positions within the fictional railway company Randcom. Students must react to a cyber-attack across multiple fronts, targeting Randcom’s technology, processes, and people. At the end of the case students must decide how best to communicate the hack both to Randcom’s employees and customers.

This case was prepared for inclusion in Sage Business Cases primarily as a basis for classroom discussion or self-study, and is not meant to illustrate either effective or ineffective management styles.
