Collaboration at OnDemand Business Courses, Inc.

Abstract

OnDemand Business Courses, Inc. has historically offered in-person and on-site training for its corporate education customers, but is now rapidly growing its e-learning offerings. Chief Executive Officer Robyn Trevino is pushing the online product development division to rapidly create and launch new courses and she organizes the division into seven separate departments that seem to operate independently. Mounting customer complaints and rising costs have Trevino wondering what to do next. Interviews with managers are presented to describe the challenges that the division is facing with cross-functional collaboration.
