Abstract

This case covers fitness start-up ClassPass and the recent funding that secured the company’s position as the decade’s first “unicorn.” Although the funding will allow ClassPass to further expand—possibly paving the way to an initial public offering (IPO)—its business model, which some say is wringing profits from boutique gyms, is coming into question.
