Abstract
This short case covers China’s upcoming national cryptocurrency, reported to be “close” to release by the People’s Bank of China. Students will consider China’s state-backed cryptocurrency in the context of global currency reserves, decentralized blockchain cryptocurrencies, and what impact this may have on them and on other cashless economies.
