Case
Abstract
Chevron, the giant American petroleum company, and Saudi Aramco, the largest state-owned oil company of Saudi Arabia, provide examples of what happens when the globalizing power of business is met by the localizing power of culture and politics. While Chevron's challenge is to be perceived as a national rather than foreign company to its hosts countries, Saudi Aramco's challenge is to operate on an international level amongst other global players.
