Following years of precipitously diminishing sales and the sudden suicide of the company’s chief financial officer, retailer Bed Bath & Beyond is making what could be its final attempt to reinvent itself in order to survive today’s retail landscape. It’s not the first time the company has tried to shore up business with a new strategic approach, but recent missteps make the road ahead for Bed Bath & Beyond rocky and unclear. This case asks students to analyze and discuss Bed Bath & Beyond’s latest strategic approach.
