Murphy's getting married. Surprise, surprise! We had him pegged for a lifelong bachelor (no rarity in this undermated family) but he was, it seems, just being frugal with his dating money. Now he's fetched a fiancee back from Winnipeg, where he's been doing graduate study, and my mother and I are giddy with the novelty. We haven't added a family member since Murphy himself was born, and now there'll be a whole new relative, bringing along her own story like a character in a hypertext novel.
