He was big and loud and beautiful.

On a sunny day, he was at his dazzling best.

So dazzling, all the other bikes would stop and stare.

He would cruise around the streets.

And he would cruise into town.

And when the traffic stopped,

The cars would grit their grills

And the trucks would wheeze, cough, splutter and snarl.

And Mango would give them all a wink

And accelerate along the gutter

And onto the footpath

Ducking and dodging

Swerving and weaving

While pedestrians and shopping trolleys

Babies and prams

Dogs, cats, mice and rats,

Would all be leaping and screeching.

Mango poked out his headlight,

Wiggled his exhaust pipe,

Did wheelies

And screechies.

He grinned at the on-lookers

Gaping and googling,

Gasping and grasping.
