The aims of this chapter are, through the use of an extended case study, to:
- highlight the key themes raised in the book with respect to the biopsychosocial paradigm
- highlight particularly issues concerning evolution, emergence, and adaptation
- encourage reflection upon those key themes.
The following interview was carried out specifically as a case study for this book, and at her request, apart from her first name, Fiona remains entirely anonymous. My meeting with Fiona was entirely serendipitous; the peer review for this book had requested a case study and a real life example emerged after a meeting at an academic conference.
