It must be understood that “diverse and different others” are spiritual beings, and many have had their spirits damaged. This damage has even come from hate-filled messages delivered from ministers, pulpits, and religious institutions. Often, these messages have also been delivered and/or reinforced by parents, elders, community members, politicians, members of the media, and peers.
