Number and quantity probes

The content of the Probes in this chapter aligns with the standards for high school but is often taught in different courses across districts. The Probes and their variations are also relevant beyond the aligned course level for students in more advanced courses who have not yet met particular standards from previous courses as well as for students who have already met the standards in the current course.

We developed these Probes to address this critical area of focus for high school students, described in the standards (Council of Chief State School Officers [CCSSO], 2010) as follows:
