5.1 The Instrument and its Administration
Personal effectiveness (PE) scale is meant to be used for various groups such as managers, counsellors, consultants, students and teachers. The PE scale gives personal effectiveness types in terms of self-disclosure, feedback and perceptiveness. It contains 15 statements, five for each of the three aspects. A respondent checks each statement, indicating the extent to which it is true of him or her (on a 5-point scale). This instrument is self-administered. Details of its administration, conceptual framework, scoring and use for HRD are given.
