Training Instruments in HRD and OD  is an outcome of Dr Udai Pareek’s rich worldwide experience of more than 50 years with diverse organisations, HRD professionals, researchers, students and trainers. 47.1 The Instrument and its Administration

CRI measures an individual's mode of resolving conflict. It contains 20 items, measuring confrontation, compromise, negotiation, withdrawal and resignation.

47.2 The Conceptual Framework

The conceptual framework discussed in Chapter 44 has been used for developing the inventory. Conflict Resolution Inventory comprises of five dimensions—confrontation, compromise, negotiation, withdrawal and resignation.

47.3 Scoring

Scoring can be done by the participants or by the facilitators. Scores on each range from 4 to 20.


Compare the individual's scores on each mode with the norms given in the following table.

47.4 Reliability

Split-half reliability of the instrument was found to be 0.516.

47.5 Norms

Mean and SD values given in the following table can be used as norms. Norms for specific groups can be developed.
