45.1 The Instrument and its Administration
Conflict management preference (CMP) consists of 10 conflict situations. After reading a situation, respondents choose one of the eight given strategies, thus indicating their preference for a particular approach. They also state why they choose that approach.
The situations were developed after examining critical incidents of conflicts in organisations that were collected by 30 managers. The eight strategies or approaches and the eight styles of conflict management are elaborated in Chapter 44.
