This chapter will look at the common issues, professional dilemmas and challenges that occur when working as a psychotherapeutic counsellor in a variety of working environments. A counsellor may have to engage with the multi-agency, multi-professional system surrounding a child with complex needs, so we will consider conceptual and theoretical frameworks that could support that counsellor in this environment.
