Many causes have been attributed to eating disorders, and each one has lent itself to the development and practice of a variety of treatments. Most workers in the field now accept the notion that eating disorders are multi-determined in nature, and are more likely to talk in terms of ‘risk factors’ when discussing the origins of disorder in any one person or group of people.
