Being abused will often cause victims to have some problems in school. Many times victims blame themselves for their school problems because they don't know that being abused often causes people to have trouble in school. There are lots of ways abuse can cause problems for people in school.
The school problems may be the result of an effect of the abuse called post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD for short. PTSD is a group of symptoms that people sometimes get when they have had something really bad happen to them such as abuse.
