Once the foundations of the PLC are in place, it's time to build the pillars that support effective teacher learning teams: collaborative teamwork, teacher capacity, leadership capacity, and professional development. A PLC organizes its instructional program around an infrastructure of teacher learning teams. This chapter begins with answers to the what, why, and how questions of learning teams.
