In the last two chapters, we discussed the first and second Essential Tasks: Looking at Student and Teacher Work and Designing Quality CFAs. To be sure, both of these endeavors in and of themselves provide valuable sources of data. In this chapter, we examine how to look at other, more traditional sources of data, how to ask the right questions from the data, and what to do in response to these data so that the quality and quantity of student learning is increased.
