We all need attention and we don't want to share it with an interloper. Any attention coming from our partners we want for ourselves. We don't want half.

Kids are just the same. They find it very hard to share adult's attention. Unfortunately, some kids don't just want attention, they're desperate for it. And they find out very early on in life that the easiest way to grab attention is to be a nuisance.

Go on – Be Honest

We know, if we're honest with ourselves, that if our child is sitting playing nicely in the other room we'll tend to say “Thank heaven he's quiet” and carry on with the dishes in peace.
